Stirling Moss leads Juan Manuel Fangio during the 1955 Italian Grand Pric at Monza. The two Mercedes Benz drivers had dominated the season taking five victories between them and easily recording a 1-2 in the overall championship standings. moss would retire at half distance with engine trouble leaving Fangio to take his fourth win of the season and third world title. Team mate Piero Taruffi came second as the pair of streamlined bodied W196's finished over 40 seconds  clear of Ferrari in third around the high speed Monza layout.
